In our Style Challenge series, we ask some of our favorite bloggers from around the web to surprise us with their ideas for creating a stylish and functional space using Home Depot products as a starting point.
For the Holiday Edition of the Style Challenge we invited Kate Riley of Centsational Girl to share her Christmas decorating ideas for her mantel. She offers us a gorgeous Christmas mantel that’s both elegant and homey.
I was so excited to be one of the participants in this year’s Holiday Style Challenge and my mission was to create a beautiful mantel scene in my home. I’m a big fan of color but I was inspired this year to create a quieter setting, focused on a silvery winter palette with small touches of lime green.
The snowy garland from The Home Depot is swagged across the mantel and embellished with a “merry” sentiment created from letters found at a craft store.
Whimsy plays a part in the form of 18-inch tinsel trees from The Home Depot that sparkle and shine next to the silver candlesticks and mercury glass I’ve collected over the years.
Summer lanterns brought indoors for winter make great vessels for stacks of ornaments on display.
The mirror is the Barcroft by the Home Decorators Collection, topped off with a 18-inch wreath, both from The Home Depot.
