One of the easiest ways to save on utility bills is by switching your traditional light bulbs to LED lighting in your home. LED lights save up to 85 percent more energy than traditional incandescent light bulbs and they last 25 times longer. That means you can install an LED light bulb today and there’s a good chance it will still be working when a new born returns home from college. Another advantage they offer is they are cool to the touch, potentially saving your little ones from burning their little curious fingers.
Home Depot associate Christina Zuchegno highlights LED lighting and LED terminology in this week’s First Look video by covering Lumens (light output), Watts, Efficacy (Lumens per Watt), Color Rendering Index (Color Accuracy) and the color of light being emitted (Light Color).
Our First Look series gives Apron Blog readers an inside look by highlighting some of the videos our store associates watch to learn about the new products and services available at The Home Depot.

i was very surprised how NOT dimmable the ecosmart led (sku 409 440) led lights are. they go up and down a little, but only from about 100% to 60% of brightness. then they go all the way out. i have other led lights that dim through their full range, but the ecosmart bulbs DO NOT… so don’t use them in dimmable applications (even though they say ‘dimmable’ on the package).
Hi, Barry.
I’m sorry you’re not happy with the sku 409 440 light bulb. I just took a look at the customer comments about this bulb on its product page on homedepot.com, and I see other comments about the dimming issue. It might be a matter of how many of these bulbs you have on one dimmer. I’m not suggesting that this means it isn’t a problem, though. But this kind of feedback is helpful.
Would you mind going over to the product page and leaving a customer review? When you do, please let us know how many bulbs you had on your dimmer. Click here—> EcoSmart 14-Watt (75W) Soft White (2700K) BR30 LED Flood Light Bulb
Thanks for the comment, and I hope you’ll give our LED bulbs another try.

Now more improvement must be made for better, longer lasting outdood motion detectors.
I hane tried several manufactores and retail outlets, and have not found any that are satisfactory.None outlast their warntee except Regent. Warntee service is not economicly feseable as bad items must be shipped at owners expence.
Thanks for helping !
