    • Craig Allen says:

      Hi, Thomas.

There is no bill paying function in the current Home Depot iPhone app. Our app developers are working on ways to manage your Home Depot account, but there’s nothing to announce right now. But stay tuned.

    hello
    Android apk ???????????

    Thank you

  9. Ryan says:

All I see is iphone and android. What about blackberry??? I go to home depot store from one end of the city to the next, would really enjoy the in store map. Hope to see this app for blackberry before I have to buy an iphone just for this app.

  10. Justin says:

Still looking for that Android App. Darren you have be saying that it was coming soon but I haven’t seen you update since mid January. Are we any closer to the release of this app for the Android platform? What about a sign up page to be notified when it is released?
    Thanks J…

  11. Robert says:

It would be nice to have an email sign up list so you could notify us when the App will be available for Android.

  12. Justin says:

is there a concrete calculator on the app to calculate the amount of bags needed for an area?

  13. Julie says:

Thanks for the app. My iphone has turned out to be the most amazing piece of technology I’ve ever owned.

    • Darren Ryan says:

I’m thrilled that you are enjoying the app and your iPhone! How did we all get on without our smartphones back in the day?!? Let me know if you have any suggestions for the app Julie!

  14. AJ says:

Android app please!!! We beg of you!

  15. Lynn says:

I will join the chorus of Android users….

  16. gary says:

a droid app is needed. the droid is the working mans tool

  17. Danny says:

We need the droid app.. Droids are quickly gainin on the iphone numbers and will soon be the majority.

  18. Don says:

Need the Android app also. Please Hurry !!! =)

  19. It would be very helpful tool if you were to make if for an Andriod phone. I use a Droid 2. I feel that this shows one of the major problems with Home Depot, your app is for a phone that is not as popular as the Android, and your website is useless. I dose not show all of the available products, so I must go to the store anyway.
    Thank you
    Joel

  20. manuel castillo says:

Wow so many rooting for a Droid app. And I’m one of them. I have the EVO and it would b great to have a app like that on my phone. Get back t me when u guys finally get it.

    Thanks. MNC

  21. Normand Beaudoin says:

    hello
can you tell me if Android is coming soon!!!!!!!!!

  22. Alex says:

Instore wifi would be a great. Especially at the Apex store (3644). Thanks.

  23. jose says:

I want to see my check goes up.

  24. Kent says:

Really looking forward to the Android App. Considering the size and growth rate of user base–it should (and probably is getting) have highest priority. It will be free?????? (Right????)

    Captivate.

  25. Tina Hulgan says:

What about the app for the HTC HD 7 phone

  26. Iphonebites says:

Isn’t it funny how all the Iphone/Ipad users want wifi in the stores (because they can’t get cell service). Droid users are anxiously awaiting an app, no need for wifi, we have cell service.

    • rick says:

re: Iphonebites…Iphone users do have cell service in stores, they want wifi so that they are not charged for data time used while using THD app while in stores.. thanks
      RickO

  27. Ryan says:

We need the Droid App! Looking forward to it!

  28. ken says:

How about wireless in Loveland, CO?

  29. When the android version is released I will install it ASAP. I can’t think of a single more useful app for me, and that means it would leave the several others I use daily in the dust! Home Depot, keep up the good work, keeping up with the tech-savvy of your customers means more business and, for many, more loyalty.

In-store item locator appeals greatly, as each store in my area (I can count at least 7 in the SW Kansas City area) has a different layout.

  30. wowlfie says:

Not having an Android application when ANDROID outsells the iphone now is really stupid Home Depot!!!

    • Darren Ryan says:

Simmer down now Wolfie, like I said before it’s coming soon and you are going to love it!

    • Motohead says:

The android is still a fraction of the total iPhones in use. Sales % is only indicative of new phone sales and iPhone users already bought the best, droid is for the rest. You have to make products for the largest chunk of users NOT the current best seller. Two totally different things.

  31. wowlfei says:

No Android application for EVO or Epic?

    NO THANKS HOME DEPOT!

Your catering to the wrong group of people!!!!

    • Darren Ryan says:

LOL…oh Wolfie! The Android app is coming in the next month or two. It takes time to make these things right and that just what the team is determined to do! Merry Christmas!

  32. Justinknoxville says:

looks like a great app. Wish the Android version would get here sooner rather than later!

  33. Jimmy says:

The Decatur AL store has no public wifi. My iphone finds 3 wifi within the store but all are locked. How about a public connection in this store?

  34. howard says:

Darren…The stores i use most are Rohnert Park, Santa Rosa, and Windsor in N. Ca. .Sometimes use Story Rd. store in san jose also. Sure would like to see Wi-Fi available. Thx Howard

    • Darren Ryan says:

Thanks Howard! I need to ask for a bit more patience on this as the holidays have hit and coordinating answers isn’t a quick process right now. But I will get you answers and info, I promise! Have a great Holiday Howard!

  35. [...] the big e-tailers are cashing in on mobile commerce; companies like Best Buy, Sears, Target, and The Home Depot all have sophisticated mobile commerce [...]

  36. Lonny says:

    Dear Santa,

All I want for Christmas is for you to subcontract a couple of your elves to the HD App Devel group (strictly corp to corp) to help expedite test and certification of the Android version of the Home Depot App.

    Thank you,

    app-less in the lower 48.

  37. Howard says:

I like the new app, but hesitate using it at my local home depot store. There is no wifi and I dont want to increase my att bill by using more data space. Is wi -fi comming soon? Ricko

  38. David Beard says:

    Darren,
Can you look into the Collinsville, Illinois store for wi-fi access? Also how soon for thr iPad verison? Plus the Android verison!
    Thanks,
    Dave

  39. Karen says:

    I LIKE IT!!!

  40. I’m on a fixed income, (retired), and I often ‘fiddle – noodle – diddle’ around the house, so I use Home Depot to a significant extent. I have a new i-phone, but I don’t want to increase my monthly user fees, so the big question for me is: “What’s the COST?? How much does it cost to download, and how much does it cost to use?
p.s.. I don’t understand the block above labeled WEBSITE. What are you looking for??

    • Darren Ryan says:

Hey Pat! Thanks for visiting. Our iPhone app is always free, so there is no cost to download the app. As far as usage goes, that depends on the data plan that you have with AT&T. According to the sales rep that I just spoke with at AT&T, most of their iPhone subscribers (98%) never exceed their data plans, but check with them as they can give you more details regarding your plan.

I think you’ll really enjoy the app and the tools. Would you share your thoughts on the app once you get it downloaded and get a chance to play with it?

Thanks again Pat, have a great holiday!

  41. Joel says:

    Need a BlackBerry app!!

  42. Howard says:

The WiFi is spotty in your Huntington, NY Store. Are you able to fix this?

    Thanks.

    Howard

  43. Dennis says:

Is the NEW INTERACTIVE TOOLBOX avaiable for a laptop (win vista) ?
    Thanks and Happy Holiday’s
    den

  44. Jason says:

Your stores have bad reception. Get some wireless.

  45. conejo says:

bla bla bla bla bla !! monkeyzzzzzzzzz

  46. JACK LYNCH says:

Darren, This is a great idea BUT we need one for Blackberry!!!! Please.

  47. freakytiki says:

So does this mean ALL home depot’s will have free wi-fi. Its about time.

  48. Howard says:

Recently I downloaded this IPod App to my ITouch. It works well at home but unfortunately it’s not able to run well in your Huntington Store because you do not have an open 802.11 wi-fi available to use in support of it’s shopping cart capabilities. Is it your plan to offer an wireless internet connection in your store to make this application fully functional for those of us who require 802.11 for a connection?
    Looking forward to your answer.
    Thanks.
    Howard

  49. michael says:

when will this be available on the android platform?

  50. chris says:

im a palm pre user and would love to have a Home Depot app with all the features including be able to price check you own items and a merch. loacter in my local store

  51. Al says:

would like to know what about a app for the palm phone from what i have read palm apps are made just the same as the iphone so i dont think there would be a problem making the app

    • Darren Ryan says:

I’m not so sure it’s all that easy, but I will pass this along Al! Have you voted for Palm in the poll? It’s not getting many votes, so be sure your voice is counted!

  52. Alex says:

What about Palm WebOS app? Most app makers can port their IOS apps over to WebOS pretty easily from what I understand.

  53. jeff davis says:

just wanted to know if you have an eta on the app for the blackberry

  54. john says:

i would like to know if there will be a app for palm phones new verision of phones are comming out with adobe flash for better viewing and now is available on the 3 largest carriers.

    • Darren Ryan says:

Hey John, thanks for asking! As far as I know there aren’t any plans for a Palm app. I can tell you that if we get a lot of customers sharing that they want a Palm app, then I’m sure it would be put into consideration.

  55. CC says:

Yes a blackberry app would be great !!
Please make it happen before blue box does.

  56. Rick says:

Not working. I used my phone to search via the App Store. I found it OK and selected the “The Home Depot” with the HD logo. Was able to read the info page and reviews, but when I hit the install button, I received a message stating “The item you tried to buy is no longer available”. (using iPhone 4 with current iOS)

  57. Sherri says:

It doesn’t work. I get the same message that it’s no longer available.

  58. Darrell says:

I followed the link you provided with teh same results.

    App no Longer available.

    • Darren Ryan says:

I’m not sure why it isn’t downloading for you Darrell! I just went to the app store on my iPad and accessed it, so let me see what is going on with iTunes.

      Thanks for the heads up!

    • Darren Ryan says:

Darrell, Have you tried going to the app store on your iPhone and searching for The Home Depot there? I seem to be accessing it from all places, so I’m wondering if you would be willing to give me some additional info such as: Is the iTune preview window opening in your broswer? Once it opens it will ask you if you want to view the app in iTunes or not. When you click yes, your iTunes should open and you should be able to download the app right there. Is there any other steps or links you may be following?

      Let me know! Thanks!

  59. Franko says:

i just tried to download using the link from Darren Ryan and got the no longer available message.

    • Darren Ryan says:

I’m not sure why it isn’t downloading for you either Franko! I just went to the app store on my iPad and accessed it, so let me see what is going on with iTunes.

      Thanks for the heads up!

      • Darrell says:

I just tried it 2 ways

        1) clicked on the link you provided, was asked if I wanted to open Itunes. I responded yes and a preview page came up. I hit the free app button in Itunes and the No Longer avaiable message came up.

        2) Opened Itunes, searched for Home Depot, clicked on Free App button, same result.

    • Darren Ryan says:

Franko, Have you tried going to the app store on your iPhone and searching for The Home Depot there? I seem to be accessing it from all places, so I’m wondering if you would be willing to give me some additional info such as: Is the iTune preview window opening in your broswer? • Darren Ryan says:

Franko, thanks for your patience! We’ve fixed the problem so you should be able to access it now.

      Thanks again!

  60. Gregory says:

You have the IPhone App but does it work with the real phone the HTC Touch Pro 2?

  61. Darrell says:

Tried to download the App this morning (11/21) and won’t download.

I get the message that the App is no longer available.

  62. wdury says:

I guess I-tunes pulled the app because when you try to download it Itunes says it is no longer available so the questioin is…

when are you going to make an I phone app?

  63. Lars says:

I use my iPad for everything (project management, inventory & invoice databases, drawing, and to-do apps)… will you have an app for the iPad soon?

    • Darren Ryan says:

Great question Lars! Good news is that the iPhone app does indeed work on the iPad! I actually have a Droid for my phone and an iPad for everything else. The app works great on my iPad and is 99% universal. There is one feature that doesn’t work on the iPad and that’s the measurement tool. We’re still working on that one!

  64. Greg says:

how about an app for android?

  65. David K says:

It would be wonderful if you included an app for the Blackberry even if BB charged a couple of bucks.

  66. John Dodson says:

Now they need to make an app for the andriod market…Please…

  67. Paul A. Hicks says:

As always, HD is planning to come through with flying hammers and nails . Even when your big competitor may provide, no reason for me to care. they don’t and I’m sure their web layout will be confusing and most important like their, stores, no customer service or their help is to referral to their other customer question page for answer or having to wait 48 hours for their professional answers. They only care about the, register ping most definitely not me. I have never found a customer rep and by slight chance I do, they sale me the wrong answer, wrong product. I sometimes get tired of HD’s policy “can I help you” BUT someone is always there and even if they don’t work with bathrooms, they help until the rep they paige comes and I have never been lead wrong. The department rep in other store normally has no answer. I don’t have to praise you I only want to thank you. I have 3 specific comments 1) the measuring function is terrific, I’m bad at math plus I assume you keep the info for my reference since I’ll lose or forget my paper before I hope not to lose my phone; 2) sometimes items are mixed up in other boxes (lazy customers) and bar code reference would be great 3) how will I know when the Android app is ready – email, newsletter or just check the web? My Droid and I thank you, much. Once again you make this DIY happy!

    • Darren Ryan says:

Thanks Paul! Keep your eye on this blog and we’ll be sure to announce the Android app first! I’m glad that we have been able to take care of you in the past and it’s only going to keep getting better. We aren’t perfect, but we do care about you and your needs! And please, Paul…don’t lose the phone! lol

  68. SMARTIN says:

Not sure if theres a demand for it but will there be an app for Windows Mobile users?

    • Darren Ryan says:

There will be a demand if people keep asking for it! I got to see a new Windows phone and it is beautiful! The interface is incredibly easy to understand and use. They really did a nice job on it. Thanks Smartin!

  69. Jacob says:

What about BlackBerry Phones. I’m an avid Home Depot shopper and this app sounds like something that could help not only me but everyone that can get this app on their phone.

  70. Darren Ryan says:

We haven’t forgotten 240, the Home Depot Android app is indeed coming in the next few months!

  71. dia says:

It would be nice if you guys make an app for android HTC phone. Android has flash its way better to view the merchandise.

  72. Nick says:

Also, suggestion for implementation in the android version. The BARCODE SCANNER! That would make it super easy to add items in the store to your “wish list” or, even to see if a store has an item, the price, and the surrounding stores in case the one you are at is out of stock, that would be awesome!

  73. Nick says:

Props for finally including us android lovers out there. If you need beta testers for your app look me up!

  74. Matt (Store 1981) says:

Would be nice if the app had access to the stores simplistic “price check” page, where you type in a store number with a SKU/UPC and it listed price, on-hands, and local stores on-hands. Could be for store associates only and require store login information, or even open to the general public would be nice too.

I know we have those new nice radios you guys sent out, but most of the time only the high up guys in the store get to use them. This would allow us iPhone associates assist the customer 20x faster instead of having to run to a computer to check the price and on-hands of something…

Like stated previously, a price scan would be nice using the camera of the phone… but just being able to type in a SKU or UPC would be sufficient.

    • Darren Ryan says:

Hey Matt! I hope you’re keeping warm up there in the Chicago area! These are more great ideas, I really like any ideas that can help us help our customers faster. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Matt, I will share them with the mobile team this week. Keep the ideas and thoughts coming!

    • Shannon Posey, UX team, Home Depot says:

Excellent idea, Matt! The mobile team is currently working on embedding a scanner into our iPhone app. Hopefully there will be scanning capability with the next release :)

  75. Daniel says:

Hi Darren, it sounds like the new HD app is going to be a big hit. Does HD have a department (maybe IT), where a Regular Joe like me contact HD and give them ideas for new apps or how to improve the ones they currently have?

    • Darren Ryan says:

Hey Daniel…I haven’t forgotten about you! I am trying to get the best contact info for you so hang tight. Thanks!

    • Shannon Posey, UX team, Home Depot says:

Hi Daniel, this is Shannon and I am on the User Experience team at Home Depot. I welcome your comments on how to improve our apps; you can send your ideas my way on this message board. I will make sure they are heard!

  76. Dan says:

What about the abillity to scan items in the store so we can get a price. we had it once before. and also the ability to add to a list so we can come home later and log in to our hd account and print the list.

  77. Jack says:

You gotta pay for it? That’s why I switched to verizon and got a droid.. Wow I was almost excited for a minute…

  78. Bill B Florida says:

There are a couple more features you should add: A concrete conversion table, if your local HD has a tool rental.

  79. Dave Rebtoy says:

Why dont you include the new HD Community in the app as well, it will give me something to do here in Minnesota.

    • Darren Ryan says:

Now I really like that idea Dave!!! =) It would be great to have the forums, blog and more added. Maybe in a future update…

I will be sure to bring this idea up in all of the mobile disccusions!!

  80. Michael says:

Android App would be good to see. and if there is a way we can send in our input on a store thur the app would be good. IE Clean stores, safety issues, items moved ,sale location , service issuses ,

  81. David says:

Let me know when the Droid app is available. It could help me at work, HD store 0640.

  82. Greg Gustenberger says:

Look up items… There is and inept for that…

  83. J. says:

I have an android phone, let me see if Lowes cares about me.

  84. randy says:

an android one would be nice to have

  85. JaTT says:

iPhone is the *****…..Everything you can imagine..it has an app for it!!LOL

  86. Derrick Green says:

As Chris stated, what about having this app for android and blackberry users. After all home depot has invested millions of dollars in blackberry. 85% of home depot employees communicate through blackberry.

    • Darren Ryan says:

Hey Derrick! Like I shared before, the Android App is going to be awesome and on devices within the next few months. However I have no current info on a Blackberry App. Now that doesn’t mean it’s not in the works, it just means that no info has been released yet. Like I mentioned to Chris, the more people who mention or ask for a Blackberry App the better! I will gladly share all of the comments about our mobile web and apps with the mobile teams!

  87. Lee says:

What a great idea !!!! I looking to purchase an IPhone next month. The app will help alot decorating my townhouse. Keep up the good work

  88. Chris says:

You need a Blackberry app also! Don’t forget about us! There are more Blackberry users than android and iphone combined! Make an app for us,too!
