Organized Gift Wrapping Station

When it comes to storage and organization, gift wrapping supplies can be headache. You have to keep lots of little items of various sizes and shapes in order, and you don’t want anything to be crushed or creased.

Megan Ardoin of the blog Honey, We’re Home is a gift wrapping maven, and so it was important that she create a gift wrapping station that’s well organized and easy to access. She also wanted her gift wrapping station to look attractive, too.

She came up with what just might be the perfectly organized gift station, ever, and as you’ll see, it’s pretty enough to put on display.

It’s so refreshing to have spaces that are not only functional, but also beautiful. You don’t have to overhaul a whole room to facilitate a major change in your house. Organizing a small area can have a dramatic impact and be less overwhelming than tackling a big project. I recently cleaned out and organized my wrapping paper and supplies and couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

I’m embarrassed to show you the sad attempt at corralling my wrapping paper, ribbon, and bows before. The bins just weren’t cutting it. They weren’t very functional or easy to access.

Because I had a big stash of wrapping supplies, I put two Stanton Wrapping Carts by Home Decorators Collection side by side. Each one is 37 inches high, 24 inches wide, and 18 inches deep

Thankfully, the cart came fully assembled, with eight bars for ribbon (four small and four large). The wheels are the only thing that needed to be attached, but since my cart is stationary in my home office, I left them off.

The cart comes in a very pretty aqua color and also in white. I fancied it up a bit by adding aqua-and-white chevron contact paper to the sides and coordinating washi tape to the top and bottom.

The great thing about the Stanton Wrapping Cart is that it has three compartments on top to store wrapping accessories like tape, markers, scissors, and note cards. The compartment is removable for extra versatility. I like to get creative with gift wrap and thank you cards, so I keep lots of accessories on hand.

Each cart holds four rows of ribbons. Now, it’s so much easier to see all of my ribbon at a glance so I know what I have! Makes adding that decorative ribbon to presents a breeze!

The cart comes with three drawers that slide out easily. I added bookplates and labels to the drawers so I could quickly identify what’s inside each one.

Since the bottom drawer is the deepest, that’s where I put the bows.

Tissue paper is stored neatly in the other, more shallow, drawers.

We have two kids’ birthday parties coming up this weekend, and I couldn’t wait to wrap their gifts! It’s so much easier now that I have everything in one spot and so well organized. Presenting a nicely decorated gift feels really good!

I couldn’t be happier with the durable construction of this wrapping cart and all of the storage it provides. They are so pretty that I have mine displayed in my home office, but I could easily put them in a closet if I wanted them out of sight or didn’t have the extra space. The wheels the cart comes with make it easy to move if you need to.

I just love my new gift wrapping station. It’s like a girl’s playground for gift giving!

Love this absolutely darling and perfectly set up to function wrapping center I’ve ever seen! You make it sound so easy for any of us to get set up. I guess my only BIG question would be “WHERE CAN WE FIND THE STANTON WRAPPING CARTS BY HOME DECORATORS COLLECTIONS”. I hope and assume it is somewhere through Home Depot?
You went on to describe in great detail how you organized all your materials. If was done in such a way that I believe I have great hope I will be able to get my sewing/craft/art room organized at last after three years of building our home. This room is literally the last room to be completed because I have not had any inspiration for cabinetry, but I do now for something as small as the wrapping area. The room is quite large and this gives me some real context. Thank you for your creative insights….have you designed a sewing room area too you would be willing to share?
    My warmest Regards!

  2. Great Designs Collection, I loved this gift wrapping paper so much that I’ve been hanging on to it since December.

Love these. I know just where I would put them. Where did you find the book plates?

  4. Wow, this is amazing! Our wrapping stuff is in bags and boxes and looks very similar to your ‘before’ picture haha. I don’t know if I would spend $200 for this station, but I could definitely try to DIY it. I know I need to organize it and this is the perfect solution! Looks great!

  5. This is so stinking cute and amazing!!! Great job, Megan!!

  6. WOW! I might be a little bit envious! I am looking around to see where I can put one of these gorgeous carts. Looks really, really great, Megan. All of the color is so beautiful.
