In our Style Challenge series, we ask some of our favorite bloggers from around the web to surprise us with their ideas for creating a stylish and functional space using Home Depot products as a starting point.
We can’t help but love the color palette Cassie of Hi Sugarplum! chose for her outdoor space, after all, orange is our favorite color too! With the help of a couple of DIY projects and some colorful accents, Cassie turned what used to be a blah poolside space into a functional family hangout! Read on for Cassie’s colorful patio decor ideas and some gorgeous photos of her patio makeover.
When we bought our house six years ago, I could hardly believe we lucked out with a pool. I pinched myself every day that first summer to be sure I wasn’t dreaming. (If you’ve ever been to Texas in August, then you know what I mean!) But soon after, our attention turned to all the projects calling our name inside, and even though we still used the pool, the backyard wasn’t an inviting place for lounging and entertaining.
Enter Home Depot, and their amazing collection of patio furniture, and now we have a cheerful outdoor room, ready for spring picnics and summer pool parties!
Our house is bright and colorful, so of course we brought that same feeling outside. The Woodbury Seating Set comes with neutral cushions, so we’ll be able to easily switch things up, if we change our minds. But that could be awhile, because I’m totally cuckoo over the pink and orange color palette.
I painted Striped Lacquer Pots, and filled them with cheerful flowers and succulents for more color.
It feels like such a luxury to have a coffee table outdoors! It’s perfect for serving food and drinks, or just propping up your feet with a good book.
The coordinating Dry Erase Tray is another easy project that just adds more fun and personality to the space, and will be helpful for outdoor entertaining.
With the warmer weather, this has quickly become our favorite spot, and between the loveseat and two chairs, there’s plenty of room for all of us to stretch out.
To mix up the set, and add more pattern and color, I stenciled a fun Otomi Side Table, perfect for holding a cold drink.
I have a feeling we’re about to get really popular with the neighbors…and that’s okay with me! I can’t wait to enjoy the space for pool parties and cookouts, and even just quiet evenings under the stars.
Thanks to The Home Depot, I feel like we’re finally using our backyard to it’s full potential!
