Patio Decorating Ideas Coming in New Patio Style Challenge

Last spring, we brought you inspiring patio decorating ideas designed by a few of our favorite bloggers. But when it came time to plan this year’s Patio Style Challenge, we couldn’t just stop at six participants. Instead, we asked 18 talented designers and decor writers to take part! Using one of our 2013 patio sets as the centerpiece, each designer has four weeks to turn his or her backyard, porch or patio into an inviting oasis. Beginning in April, we will be sharing with you photos of their redesigned outdoor spaces and their descriptions of how they achieved the look and feel of their new patio decor.

We are proud to introduce the very talented participants of our 2013 Patio Style Challenge:

First Row:

Alex is an interior designer in Chicago. She writes about interiors and fashion at Things that Sparkle.

Brittany of Brittany Makes is a passionate, creative DIYer living in California. Her blog is full of terrific decor ideas… and disarming expressions of love for bulldogs.

Bryn of Bryn Alexandra is an interior designer living in Charlotte, North Carolina. Last fall, she participated in our Holiday Style Challenge and styled a festive fireplace mantel.

Second Row:

Cassie of Hi Sugarplum is a seasoned DIYer, always updating her Texas home. One look at her blog, and you’ll immediately share her love of vibrant colors and patterns.

Chassity blogs at Look Linger Love, and is currently renovating her Charleston, South Carolina home. You can see the front door she styled as a part of our Holiday Style Challenge!

Courtney is a talented interior designer in California and pens the blog Courtney Out Loud. He has impeccable taste and finds amazingly clever ways to decorate on a dime.

Third Row:

Dana is the voice behing the blog House*Tweaking, where she writes about interior design. Her most recent project is updating her 1950′s ranch she calls the Underdog.

Erika of Blu Label Bungalow is a talented interior designer living in Atlanta. Her designs have been featured in Better Homes and Gardens… and soon we’ll see her patio decorating ideas come to life on the Apron blog!

Erin of House of Earnest is a creative to the core, living in Columbus, Ohio. She’s currently renovating an old farmhouse with her husband, Matt. Last Fall, she designed a dining room for our Holiday Style Challenge.

Fourth Row:

Grace blogs at A Storied Style. When she isn’t updating her 1920s Texas home, she’s helping clients realize their own decorating dreams. Grace has already dropped some tantalizing clues about what’s she’s doing for the Patio Style Challenge on her blog.

Hannah of Maple and Shade is an interior designer who just recently moved to Lexington, Kentucky. Her blog is chocked full of design inspiration boards and personal stories that bring the fun of home decorating to life.

Jewel at Eat.Drink.Shop.Love. is an Atlanta native with an infectious love of  food, fashion, and design of all kinds. Her blog delivers smart fashion commentary, delicious recipes and cool design tips.

Fifth Row:

Kelly is the voice behind View Along the Way, where she chronicles her journey of updating her fixer upper. Check her blog for lots of before and after photos and plenty of detail on how she’s transforming her home into a showcase.

Kristin of the design blog The Hunted Interior knows her way around a DIY project. She can sew, build, upholster, and style. Just look at the dining room she created as a part of our Holiday Style Challenge!

Lauren is an interior designer in northern Virginia, as well as the voice behind the design blog Pure Style Home. She’s currently renovating a contemporary 70s home in Virginia. Readers of her blog get lots of very practical decorating tips along side gorgeous photos of her interior design projects.

Sixth Row:

Mandy of Fabric Paper Glue is a Washington bureaucrat by day, and an obsessive crafter by night. She also has her own Etsy shop! One glance at her blog, and you’ll immediately see her flare for mixing colors, patterns and textures.

Tobe of Because It’s Awesome is a graphic designer and Kansas City, Kansas resident. Her inspiration might come from beautiful packaging, or her favorite singer, and we love her blog… because it really is awesome.

Whitney of The Curtis Casa is an Atlanta, Georgia resident and currently contributes to the Apron blog. She’s already sharing sketches of her patio decorating ideas on her blog. We can’t wait to see her back deck transformation.
