A great way to add ambiance to your home and gain energy-efficient zone heating at the same time is with an electric fireplace. Our Hampton Bay electric fireplaces feature SpectraFlame LED lighting technology, which translates to a bulb life in excess of 20,000 hours and lower utility bills. They are also very easy to set up anywhere in your home as no ventilation is required, and you can use them with or without heat.

Our Hampton Bay electric fireplaces come in a variety of styles and colors sure to match any décor. You can even find one centered around an entertainment center or media unit with a backlit temperature display that keeps you informed of temperature changes instantly.

Associate Chad Terry highlights our line of Hampton Bay electric fireplaces in this week’s First Look video.

With fall’s arrival days grow shorter and a little colder, and leaves of trees turn many marvelous shades of marigold. Thoughts too turn inward, to hearth and home, as we ready ourselves for the holiday season and entertaining family and friends. And nothing says come in and stay awhile quite like the sight of a fire roaring in the fireplace.

But if you happen to live in a home with a non-working fireplace, you can still create a warm, inviting look that will make the hearth of your home both a place of gathering and a focal point of the room. We found some pretty stunning examples of fireplace design ideas, like the one above from Michelle’s Sweet Somethings Design blog, arrayed with candles in autumnal colors, wicker balls and scatterings of natural fall accents.

A cozy, nature-inspired mantel by Jenny of Everyday Occassions

In our Style Challenge series, we ask some of our favorite bloggers from around the web to surprise us with their ideas for creating a stylish and functional space using Home Depot products as a starting point.

Jenny is an entertaining expert who lives in Kansas City, Missouri, as well as the author of the blog Everyday Occasions. One look at her table settings and menus, and you’re sure to want an invitation to her next soirée. We challenged Jenny to style, not a table setting, but a cozy, fireplace mantel in her family room. Here, she shares with us her gorgeous Christmas mantel ideas.

For the Home Depot Holiday Style Challenge, I transformed my mantle into a Cozy Snow Dusted Fireside Escape. I tend to decorate during the holidays using natural materials when at all possible. I love the look of brown craft paper wrapped packages, burlap ribbon, pinecones, and fresh greenery. In the past, I have gravitated toward using a lot of white and gold for decorating the holidays that resulted in a sophisticated look, but since we’ve had our daughter, Emma, I’ve made a turn to the more cheerful and traditional colors.

Fireplace mantel ideas from Bryn of Bryn Alexandra

In our Style Challenge series, we challenge some of our favorite bloggers from around the web to surprise us with their ideas for creating a stylish and functional space using Home Depot products as a starting point.

Bryn Dunn of the blog Bryn Alexandra took part in the Holiday Edition of the Style Challenge by creating a gorgeous fireplace mantel using a delightfully unexpected color palette of red and purple. Take a look at Bryn’s wonderful holiday mantel ideas.

The holidays are my absolute favorite time of the year! I love everything about it — the festive music, the wonderful smells, the hustle and bustle of shoppers and, of course, time with family. One of my favorite things to do during the holiday season is to light a fire in our family room at night while my husband and I are relaxing on the sofa. And what better way to enjoy a fire during the holiday season than with a festive mantel?

When I start planning my decorations for the holidays, I always start with a color scheme. I like to pick only one or two colors to keep things simple and contemporary. (I am very simplistic with my decorating.)

This year I was inspired by a red and purple color scheme. Red is such a classic holiday color and I never tire of it this time of year. I decided to add purple as an accent color to give the mantel a modern touch. (Purple has been one of my favorite colors this year!)
