Give a Gift Card This Mother’s Day

Here’s a clever Mother’s Day idea: Give her a Home Depot gift card on a plant stake.

Include one with a plant from your local Home Depot store. A living plant can symbolize the nurturing and care that a mother provides, so it makes a particularly apt gift for Mother’s Day. Choose a flowering plant that blooms in your mother’s favorite color to make a big impact.

And add the Home Depot gift card to make your Mother’s Day gift do double duty. The plant serves as a personal expression of your gratitude, and because it lets her choose a gift for herself, the gift card ensures that your mother will find something specific to her interests.

No matter if your mother loves gardening, home improvement, interior design or landscaping, she will find something to love at The Home Depot. The Home Depot Gift Card has no monthly fees and never expires, so Mom can take her time to find exactly the right piece for her project.

This Mother’s Day, give the mother in your life a gift you know she’ll not only appreciate, but also use.

DIY Valentine’s Gifts for Your Sweetheart: #14 Making a Last Minute Idea Magic

Posted by: on February 14th, 2012 | Make A Comment

Day 14 of 14: DIY Valentine’s Gifts for your Sweetheart finds our writers discussing great Home Depot products or projects for gift ideas. In this edition, Craig has a last minute gift idea, and Shaina tells us the magic words that will make this idea really cast a spell.

Give kisses, hugs and do-it-yourself on Valentine's Day

Craig: OK, it’s almost too late. It’s Valentine’s Day, and any guy who hasn’t figured out what to get his sweetheart had better get his act together, fast. Fortunately, Home Depot is there for you with what just happens to be the perfect DIY Valentine’s gift of all—a Home Depot gift card. It’s fast, it’s easy and you can even get a card with an image perfect for Valentine’s Day.

There. Problem solved. Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!

Shaina: Hold on. You’re not done yet. For one thing, the woman will clearly recognize a last second attempt to stay out of trouble, so we’re off to a very bad start. But worse, you’re still missing the romance. Any fellow in this situation will have to step up his game. He’ll at least need to present the card with some flowers—which, by the way, you can also pick up at The Home Depot—and a card with a very important inscription.

I know exactly what to say that will keep the last minute guy out of the doghouse, and firmly plant him in his lover’s heart.

Add the Personal Touch to Gift Cards With Personalized Video

Posted by: on December 15th, 2010 | One Comment

My gift giving philosophy is all about giving my friends and family want they want or need and sometimes that means giving them a Gift Card to ensure that they get their gift exactly the way they want it.

I know some folks out there think that giving a gift card isn’t very personal.  But The Home Depot has changed all of that with our new Personalized Video Gift Card. Imagine being able to record your message in video telling your loved ones how much they loved or sharing a special video from their favorite family vacation or family event.  These new Gift Cards truly make gift card giving very personal.

Home Depot’s Personalized Video Gift Card lets you record or upload a video for your family and friends to enjoy on a virtual 3D movie screen.  All they need is his computer, a webcam and the Gift Card to view your video.  Even they don’t have a webcam; they’ll be able to view it.

Home Depot’s new Personalized Video Gift Card isn’t available anywhere else so start thinking about the video message you want to share with everyone on your list.  I have quite a few names yet to cross off my gift giving list; so I think I am going to attach some old video excerpts that I have on my computer to those gift cards for a good laugh and warm memories.

Don’t forget…Home Depot’s Gift Cards never have any fees and they never expire.  They can be redeemed online or at your favorite Home Depot store so check out this demo for the Personalized Video Gift Cards today:
