When receiving a gift, there’s nothing more delightful than unexpected gift wrapping! It adds an extra level of excitement to the gift you’ve carefully picked out, and it shows the recipient that you’ve spent time and effort selecting the perfect package.

I decided to have a little bit of fun in the gift wrapping department and select a material you might never expect — a tarp zipper! Using a spare bit of tarp, a tarp zipper, and some hot glue, we created this unique and unusual gift wrap! This is one of the more unusual gift wrapping ideas you’ll find, I think.

Gift wrapping is one of those things that some people absolutely love and some people couldn’t care less about. I personally look forward to wrapping, and love to create a cohesive “look” for all of the presents under the tree. I love coming up with creative gift wrapping by using one particular type of wrapping and ribbon. It’s also possible to create a unified feel by repeating colors throughout each gift.

In the Christmas gift wrap collection I created above, I used only a few materials for each gift — builder’s paper, silver contact paper, jute twine and mason twine — but I accented many of these gifts with some extras.
