Mix flameless LED pillar candles with real candles to create warm, inviting candle light on your dining room table

In our Holiday Style Challenge series, some of our favorite bloggers brought you new and creative ideas for decorating your home for the holidays. In this series, several of our bloggers used LED candles as part of their dining room table settings, and we loved how each of these stylish ladies added their own twist to these innovative holiday helpers.

1. Mix LED flameless candles with real flame votives

In the photo above, Katie of the blog Modern Eve blended Home Accents Pillar LED flameless candles (which come with a timer and remote control!) with real votive candles to create maximum impact in her delightful holiday dining room. By blending real and flameless candles, you can create a dramatic candlelight table setting, plus by incorporating real votive candles into your table setting, your guests won’t even suspect the flameless LED candles aren’t real, too!

A beautiful Christmas mantel in turquoise, white and silver

In our Style Challenge series, we ask some of our favorite bloggers from around the web to surprise us with their ideas for creating a stylish and functional space using Home Depot products as a starting point.

When Kelly participated in our Patio Style Challenge this past spring, she wowed us with her colorful, casual outdoor living space. We knew she had to participate in our festive Holiday Edition, and we were thrilled when she accepted the challenge! Take a look at how she managed to mix and match various textures and finishes to create a gorgeous Christmas mantel.

When I start thinking about holiday decor, two things come to mind:  sparkle and a pop of color. I love to use unexpected color to add a modern twist to classic elements like a wreath and garland.

This year, I’m using a palette of turquoise, silver and white; pairing Martha Stewart Living ornaments with a collection of mercury glass bottles, vases and votive candles.

A beautiful dining room decorated for Christmas

In our Style Challenge series, we ask some of our favorite bloggers from around the web to surprise us with their ideas for creating a stylish and functional space using Home Depot products as a starting point.

Erin Souder, the founder and editor-in-chief of House of Earnest, is constantly burning up the blogosphere with her creative DIY projects. Her limitless creativity and fantastic taste never ceases to amaze us! We thought she’d be a natural fit for the Holiday Edition of the Style Challenge series. We sent her Christmas decorations from The Home Depot, which she used to create a beautiful dining room ready for the holidays. Take a look at the beautiful photos, and pick up some stylish DIY Christmas decorating ideas for your home.

One of my favorite parts about getting older has always been that I become more and more in tune with my own style, and this is especially true around the holidays. I’ve always been one to make things my own by using unconventional materials, and heading to The Home Depot for decorating supplies is one of my secret weapons! From contractors paper to twine and hooks, there is so much that can be done to turn a home into a festive Christmas retreat.

Home Depot boxes arrived at my doorstep filled with wintry, snowy, woodsy flair and I couldn’t have been more excited. I love adding natural, neutral elements to my home decor, and Christmas is no different.

A black and white stitched table runner with a little Scandinavian flair works as a foundation for the reds, golds, and greens that I had to work with for the challenge. I used packages of Martha Stewart ornaments with manila shipping tags to tie together bundles of gold flatware and name tags for each dinner guest.

A beautiful Christmas mantel in silver, white and green

In our Style Challenge series, we ask some of our favorite bloggers from around the web to surprise us with their ideas for creating a stylish and functional space using Home Depot products as a starting point.

For the Holiday Edition of the Style Challenge we invited Kate Riley of Centsational Girl to share her Christmas decorating ideas for her mantel. She offers us a gorgeous Christmas mantel that’s both elegant and homey.

I was so excited to be one of the participants in this year’s Holiday Style Challenge and my mission was to create a beautiful mantel scene in my home. I’m a big fan of color but I was inspired this year to create a quieter setting, focused on a silvery winter palette with small touches of lime green.

A cozy, nature-inspired mantel by Jenny of Everyday Occassions

In our Style Challenge series, we ask some of our favorite bloggers from around the web to surprise us with their ideas for creating a stylish and functional space using Home Depot products as a starting point.

Jenny is an entertaining expert who lives in Kansas City, Missouri, as well as the author of the blog Everyday Occasions. One look at her table settings and menus, and you’re sure to want an invitation to her next soirée. We challenged Jenny to style, not a table setting, but a cozy, fireplace mantel in her family room. Here, she shares with us her gorgeous Christmas mantel ideas.

For the Home Depot Holiday Style Challenge, I transformed my mantle into a Cozy Snow Dusted Fireside Escape. I tend to decorate during the holidays using natural materials when at all possible. I love the look of brown craft paper wrapped packages, burlap ribbon, pinecones, and fresh greenery. In the past, I have gravitated toward using a lot of white and gold for decorating the holidays that resulted in a sophisticated look, but since we’ve had our daughter, Emma, I’ve made a turn to the more cheerful and traditional colors.

Chassity poses with her two children by her front door decorated for Christmas

In our Style Challenge series, we ask some of our favorite bloggers from around the web to surprise us with their ideas for creating a stylish and functional space using Home Depot products as a starting point.

Chassity Evans is an oh-so-stylish lifestyle blogger who lives in Charleston, South Carolina, and pens the blog Look Linger Love. We knew from the start that she would make the perfect addition to our Holiday Style Challenge because of her fabulous taste, and we were thrilled when she agreed to share her holiday decorating ideas for the front door with us. We love the way she styled her chic and casual Charleston home — and endured puzzled looks from her neighbors!

The Home Depot knocked on the right door when they invited me to participate in their holiday style challenge. I’m a self-confessed holiday junkie, and Christmas is at the tippy top of the list for me.

Christmas Decorating Ideas for Your Front Door from Kyle of Knight Moves

A beautiful night scene of a front door decorated for Christmas

In our Style Challenge series, we ask some of our favorite bloggers from around the web to surprise us with their ideas for creating a stylish and functional space using Home Depot products as a starting point.

Kyle Knight of the blog Knight Moves is a budding interior designer in Dallas. Beyond just having great taste, she certainly knows how to create a beautifully designed space. In the Holiday Edition of our Style Challenge series, we challenged Kyle to take her talents outdoors to give us her Christmas decorating ideas for a festive front door.

I’ll be honest … there have been years in the past when I didn’t execute a full-home Christmas décor operation, but I never fail to hang a wreath on the door and put out some twinkle lights. The front door is just one of those must-decorate spots, don’t you think? During the holiday season, it’s pretty much a sure thing that your entry door will be seen by at least a few visitors and guests, so why not make it merry and bright? A wreath paired with a garland around the doorway is a simple, classic pairing and thus it’s a good place to start.

I’m not one for over-the-top outdoor decorations (but I do love seeing them in other yards) so a wreath + garland suits my decorating ethos because the combo is understated, but still welcoming and festive. This year, I was given some goodies from The Home Depot to spice up my front door and of course, there was garland and a nice, full faux pine wreath in the mix. With my holiday bounty, here’s the look I put together …
