Dorm rooms are often limited as far as style options go, but that doesn’t mean you can’t infuse your personal style into your new living space.  Usually you have the basics already there:  a desk, bed closet and sometimes some extra storage.  It’s what you do with and around those basics to make your dorm room or apartment your own.  Here are a few tips on making your space full of your style and personality:

Everyone always thinks the best way to get color and style into your dorm room is by bringing bold and colorful patterns in your bed covers and linens.  Dorm beds are usually the largest piece of furniture in the room.  In reality, choosing solid, light colored comforters and linens for your bed will help make the room feel brighter and larger.  You may get more use out them because you won’t get tired of a bold pattern so easily. Plus solids comforters won’t clash as much with your roomie’s décor.

You can add those bold colors and pattern with your pillows, bean bags, loungers, chairs and accessories.  Having a few colorful throw pillows are functional and they can really pop off of those lighter solid colors.  They are usually much more affordable to change out if you get tired of the colors or patterns.  Consider getting some outdoor throw pillows…
