Home Office In A Box From Martha Stewart

Posted by: on January 17th, 2013 | 2 Comments

Martha Stewart and her design team are practically geniuses when it comes to all things craft, home décor or storage and organization. In this short clip, Martha will show you how to transform a simple, affordable, easy-to-install closet organizer kit into a home office.

The Martha Stewart Living Deluxe Starter Closet Kit comes in an espresso, wild cherry or white finish. By adding on a few extra accessories like file drawers, divider racks, paint cans and a galvanized message board, her team turned this ordinary wood shelving system into an extraordinary home office/workstation that can be used anywhere in the home – and so can you.

And when it comes to organizing your home — closets, kitchen, garage, wherever — The Home Depot has everything you need in our online Storage and Organization department.

We have more DIY and home improvement videos here on the Home Depot blog and on The Home Depot’s YouTube channel.

Office space inspiration board

Without a design plan, a home office can quickly become a hodge podge of odds-and-ends and leftovers, hardly a place you’ll feel inspired, motivated, and comfortable. We encourage you to put some thought behind your design before outfitting your space with files, folders, bookshelves, and other storage options. By creating a color scheme and coming up with an overall feel of the room, your space will feel pulled together and orderly, a much better environment for tackling your daily office tasks.

In this inspiration board, a sedate and sophisticated office space.

For the home office above, we wanted to create the option of two workspaces but with a single desk. In order to do this, we used a dining table as our desk and we allocated all of our storage and organization to the Essex 6-Shelf Bookcase in White. This bookcase leaves plenty of space for storing your office supplies, filed papers, and books, allowing you to keep your desk area clean and clutter free.
