Inspiration board of stylish furniture pieces that provide storage

Staying organized is much easier when you have the right tools and foolproof storage ideas in place, and some of the best tools come in the form of furniture pieces. Dressers, side tables, and even benches can be lifesavers when it comes to finding a spot for everything, so we’ve gathered together a few of our favorite furniture pieces that marry great furniture design with functional storage.

We love how the mirrored panels on the Reflections Addie Cabinet bounce light around the room and bring a bit of sparkle to this bedroom staple. With clutter-corralling cabinet doors, this nightstand will keep magazines, tissues, and any other necessities out of sight.

The Canali Nightstand brings a much more contemporary look to a bedroom with its sleek lines, mahogany finish and spacious drawers.

If traditional-with-a-twist is more your style, we love the Normandy Single Chest side table with two deep drawers made of caning!

When thinking about organization, it’s important to have tools that create home storage solutions. Unless your home is blessed with tons of built-ins and closet space, you’ve probably thought about adding a couple of furniture pieces that will give you space to store important papers, books, and your growing collections.

The Brexley collection, with its criss-crossed designs and open storage, is a great way to bring some stylish organization to your space.

If your home has a roomy entryway, but it’s always filling up with dirty shoes, coats and backpacks, consider adding a storage bench that can house sneakers and other out-the-door items. We love the x-shaped design on the sides of the Brexley Chestnut Entry Bench and the open storage cubbies that make storing sneakers simple. But if open storage isn’t your thing, you can always add a couple of baskets to keep shoes out of sight.

It’s hard to image a space that depends more on good storage solutions than a small bedroom shared by two siblings. Storage was indeed the centerpiece of the advice Home Depot associate Eileen Claar had for a couple whose two young sons had to share a room for a time after moving to a new city.

Eileen, who posts under the handle DesigningWoman, wrote about how to help siblings share a room on our online How-To Community Forums.

She explains that to complicate matters a little, the older brother was in elementary school, and the younger boy was a toddler still in diapers — two ages with two very different sets of needs. But Eileen came up with a plan that would give the older child a little independence, but kept the shared bedroom toddler-friendly.

Day 28 of 31 Days, 31 Ways to Get Organized: If you’ve love the functionality of a kitchen island but don’t have room for one, consider installing a pull-out butcher-block chopping station right over your trash can.
