Teal bedroom with coffered ceiling seen in a Home Depot TV commercial

Have you seen our latest TV commercial featuring a bright teal bedroom? A bold paint color can make a dramatic statement in a room, especially when paired with complementary colors. In this space, the eggplant purple really brings out the green in the aqua shades used in the space, as they are opposites on the color wheel.

We love the vibrant hues chosen for this look, so we wanted to share the scoop about the different paint colors used.

All of the colors can be found at The Home Depot’s Paint Department.

The teal is too bright to be restful. A softer shade with the purple would be great!

  2. Patty says:

Love the room! Wish I had that kind of space. Can you tell me where the rug under the bed is from?

  3. [...] teal comes across as more green than blue. In fact, the teal bedroom below from Home Depot can’t help but evoke the majesty of emerald, Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2013. [...]

  4. Karla says:

Do you know where the bed came from in the top picture?

  5. Andrea says:

Where is the bedroom furniture from? The louvered/shutter dresser and nightstands. Thank you!

  6. Jasmine says:

Hi I wanted to paint my room either the tropical see or the island oasis but someone told me that those paints were not available for interior paint, only exterior. is this true, cause this picture says otherwise. Also, if the paint is also an interior paint how can I go about purchasing some?

    • Craig Allen says:

The Tropical Sea and Island Oasis paints are appropriate for both interior and exterior use, so you shouldn’t have a problem using it in your room.

If you click on the names (in orange) of the paints we list in the article, it will take you to more information about the paint on homedepot.com. We’ve also included the special number for each color in the list.

The Behr Home Decorators Collection Tropical Sea is HDC-MD-22

Behr Home Decorators Collection Island Oasis is HDC-MD-09

You could just write down the full name and the number and take that to your nearest Home Depot store. Someone at the paint counter will be happy to get you what you’re looking for.

      Thanks for asking.

After seeing this commercial, I DREAMED about the blue color of these walls. Thanks for listing the name of the color!

  9. Misty says:

What about the ceiling. How would I go about doing something like that?

    • Craig Allen says:

      Hi, Misty.

That ceiling is pretty impressive, isn’t it?

That’s what you’d call a coffered ceiling. Coffered ceilings are usually created using moulding and other sorts of millwork. Check out The Home Depot’s online Moulding and Millwork page for a look at the types of moulding you could use to create a coffered ceiling in your home.

You can ask a Home Depot associate at your local store for advice and ideas on how to design and install it yourself, or to help you find a contractor who could do it for you. Another good place for advice and ideas is online at The Home Depot’s How-To Community. Home Depot DIY and decor experts are there to answer questions, give advice and offer encouragement on all sorts of home improvement projects.

      Thanks for the question.
