Outdoor living style challenge

We’ve had the pleasure of inviting six Dallas bloggers to post here on The Apron Blog in our Style Challenge series. We challenged them to create beautiful outdoor living spaces, large or small, covered or in a backyard corner, starting with a patio set from The Home Depot. It’s inspiration you can use to create the backyard of your dreams!

Now we’d like to hear from you. Tell us which was your favorite outdoor living space. The designers all had their own vision, with some showcasing playful colors, others creating studies in texture, and others a test of space. Maybe you liked them all. Or maybe a particular one of these beautiful spaces inspired you to create your own outdoor oasis. We’ve put together this review of the series, so you can browse through each of the Style Challenge articles, and revisit all of the beautiful, stylish spaces at once!

I have to say I’m a fan of the outdoor living room. Sometimes I just wish I could take my living room and move it outside on nice days and that’s exactly what they did. Love it.

  2. Barbara says:

I especially like the “Hilary Inspired” setting. It is colorful, bright, and cheerful. A welcome respite for small intimate gatherings.

I absolutely LOVE “A Casual, Southwest-style Patio from Sara of The By & By” because of the gorgeous lounge set and pillows! But I also love the “Table Setting Ideas with Katie of Modern Eve” because I’m yearning for a backyard entertainment space! All 5 bloggers did a great job on their rooms!

  4. They’re all inspiring! I may have just found the motivation I needed to do our patio this week!

  5. I love seeing the projects next to each other–really highlights each blogger’s style! And, agreed, picking a favorite is totally impossible.

  6. Robin says:

I can’t pick a favorite! I love elements from every single one of them!
My colors are more towards the blue chair cushions from Hilary Inspired and I love the pillows that Kelly used, but really every single one of the designs gives us a take-away!
    Happy 4th Home Depot!

  7. Roxanne says:

I loved the patio that was designed by Kelly from Fabulous K. It invited me to sit down and rest which means comfy. It was clean, uncluttered, organized, but simple. The use of colors seem to encourage conversation but I could have taken my shoes off and enjoyed a wonderful day right there.
