A great way to add a touch of beauty and elegance to your décor is installing under cabinet and accent lighting around your home. With under cabinet lighting, the reflection off your stone countertop and the glow of the lights bouncing off stainless steel appliances lends a polished look to your kitchen.

For accent lights, installing them on bookcases, shelves, mantels, railings and curio cabinets is a great way to add ambiance to your living room, game room or den.

Home Depot associate Christina Zuchegno highlights the four types of accent light fixtures that we carry, including puck, linear, ribbon and rope lights. An added benefit each of these lights offer is they can be powered in different ways. You can choose an accent light in a hardwired, battery-powered, plug-in or combination plug-in/hardwired model … and best of all, they use LED bulbs to help keep your electric bills low. See her rundown of all of them in this week’s First Look video.

Our First Look series gives Apron Blog readers an inside look by highlighting some of the videos our store associates watch to learn about the new products and services available at The Home Depot.
