One way to add color and beauty to your patio, deck or outdoor room is to add lush color with well planted containers. Container gardening is great for everyone who has an outdoor space, even a small urban condo patio. You can plant annuals, perennials, vegetables…practically any plants that will grow in your hardiness zone.
Today, Rick shares some great ideas and step-by-step guidance for creating beautiful and lush containers for your patio or outdoor room in the video above. Once you’re ready to get started, visit your local Home Depot garden center to get everything you need from containers to plants.

saw an ad on tv from home depot on how to built a hanging flower box with irrigation system built in. Ad said to go to homedepot.com to get instructions on how to build it but i can’t find it anywhere. Can someone tell me how to do this project
Hi, Margaret. You can read about that project here on The Apron Blog. The short article explains the basics of the project, but it also has a link to downloadable instructions and a list of materials for the project.
I haven’t seen the hanging flower box completed in real life, but the photos of it look spectacular.
